Mr. Arthur Houades fascinated by figures, participated in every competitions of painting for the Mokarex characters, except those for 1/2 round provinces, for juniors only. He also attended all prices deliveries, specifying that the winner for "the Napoleonic Epic" presented his work in a drum opened in two parts.

What he also specifies is that he remembers well that the Kings of France and the Big Captains series were produced by Gingerbread Philbée in 1952 and 1953, so before Mokarex. He told me he remembered it very well, because of the amount of gingerbread ha had to eat to find Napoleon and Roland, in vain...

It is true that these two series were widely praised by Philbée via a large number of blotting papers and an exercise-book sleeve, while at Mokarex: nothing. Which is unusual for this brand as we can see for the series of 1953: competition, blotting paper, article in newspapers, etc....

The moulds of "The Big Captains" were indeed taken back by Mokarex (see picture). On the other hand, no trace of the moulds for Kings of France.
