In 1912, in Nicaragua, Pierre Lardet discovered in a village located in a forest, a drink made from flour of banana, cocoa, cereal and sugar. He registered trademark when he returned to France. The brand Banania went out the 31st August 1914.

A West Indian woman (see HERE) appeared on the first boxes, but in 1915 the famous Senegalese infantryman replaced her for ever..
